We are all on a learning journey… learning to love.
Growing up as the little sister to a daring and courageous older brother, from a young age I instinctively gravitated to valuing PREVENTION—preventing loss, preventing pain, preventing missing out on all the good that could have been. Fast forward several years, and I find myself sitting in medical school, in a Physician Assistant program, going through the rigors of study to finally be able to “help others live their life well.” It was there that I had a crisis of belief and chose to go in a different direction professionally. I realized I wanted to get to people before we were at a state of simply “managing symptoms with pharmacology.” I wanted to be a part of the PREVENTION, before people’s choices had gotten them stuck between a rock and a hard place. I wanted to connect with who they are—their identity, passions, and that fire inside of them to live, to live with aliveness, fullness, and joy—and help them leverage all of that strength to go after the abundance of life they are invited into by our Creator.
Through coaching incredible men and women over the past 8 years, I have had the honor to be invited into some of the most sacred treasures of the heart, mind, and spirit—that place where people open up and are real—real with themselves, real with their hopes, real with pain, real with healing, real with those eternal-driven questions of purpose, passion, and meaning. Through coaching, I have come to see how powerfully designed, resilient, and determined people truly are.
I value all things natural. I believe God created the body to heal and repair itself, and physical healing often comes most effectively through removing damaging toxins and fueling the body with the foods, practices, beliefs, and love that nurture its ability to thrive again. I believe wellness is learning to love yourself well. Love that values and knows your worth; love that sets boundaries in order to be able to say “yes” to the things you want to protect; love that digs in deep when it’s hard and doesn’t give up; love that honors each precious moment of life; love that believes and hopes and fights for what is true and right. Loving yourself comes into play with the food that goes inside your mouth, the attitude and thought patterns you allow to prevail in your mind, the way you prioritize rest and renewal, and the attention you give to being alive, fully alive, right now.
